SELLER’S STORY:
I am selling my first EV, 2017 Kia Soul EV. I bought this new in July 2018 and drove it a lot with my commute. It was great with a 240v installed at home and free 240v at work as well. With mostly highway driving, I was getting around 85 miles of range in the beginning. After nearly two years and almost 50,000 miles, my range began dropping. I was able to get the battery replaced under warranty back in September. They seem to have replaced the 27 kWh battery with the newer 30 kWh battery. Even with my mostly highway driving I am now getting about 100 miles of range! With a better mix of city and highway, I'm sure it will exceed the rated 111 miles of the 30 kWh battery on the 2018-2019 model years. I have also replaced the tires at around 54,000 miles so the new tires only have about 3k miles on them. I went with the Michelin Energy Saver tires and they have been great! There is a small dent on the rear hatch and also some scuff marks on the driver side fender (both pictured). This car has been great and is perfect for a city car or short commute. I have upgraded to a new EV with a longer range to allow me to do more road trips without worry.

We've assumed a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon for a comparable gasoline powered premium sedan, for example, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550. We've also assumed the national average of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 10% charging on Tesla’s Supercharger network and $2.70 per gallon for premium gasoline over the next five years.
Florida has allowed owners of hybrid, electric and other low-emission vehicles to ride in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes with only one person in the car between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. And with the introduction of the I-95 express lanes, they don't have to pay tolls.
EVs benefit from not requiring oil changes or other maintenance costs for exhaust systems. Studies have shown that this represents a 35 percent decrease in cost over time. Some calculations peg this to about 3 or 4 cents per mile of maintenance cost in an EV versus closer to 6 cents in an internal combustion car.
