SELLER’S STORY:

This was my first electric car. I bought it used a few years ago, and boy was it a gateway drug. This car is simple and elegant, quiet and fast, and oh so fun to drive. We named her Maple LEAF, and she is a great match for someone with a regular short commute. I used to only drive about 20 miles a day to and from work and Maple was a great car for it. I have since moved farther from my job and upgraded to a newer EV and Maple has been a great town car, but it is time to give her a new life with someone else who will perhaps enjoy their first EV. This car charges to 70 miles on the dash, but realistically gets around 40-60 miles of range depending on how you drive, and much less in the winter. Equipped with heated seats & a heated steering wheel, you will be toasty on your drive to work or trip to the grocery store, and cool on hot summer days with the A/C. This is a great car for someone who wants to enter into the EV community but wants to start with an affordable used EV. Someone who makes short regular commutes and wants to save on gas $$$, or someone looking for a second car to drive locally or for their teenager.

  • Electricity vs. Gas

We've assumed a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon for a comparable gasoline powered premium sedan, for example, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550. We've also assumed the national average of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 10% charging on Tesla’s Supercharger network and $2.70 per gallon for premium gasoline over the next five years.

    $300
  • Express Lane bills

Florida has allowed owners of hybrid, electric and other low-emission vehicles to ride in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes with only one person in the car between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. And with the introduction of the I-95 express lanes, they don't have to pay tolls.

    $120
  • Maintanance

EVs benefit from not requiring oil changes or other maintenance costs for exhaust systems. Studies have shown that this represents a 35 percent decrease in cost over time. Some calculations peg this to about 3 or 4 cents per mile of maintenance cost in an EV versus closer to 6 cents in an internal combustion car.

    $120
  • Total estimate $1,560
