SELLER’S STORY:

This is one of the earliest Model S 85 kWh battery with rear wheel drive that got the battery replaced 35K miles ago. It has gone up and down the west coast with regular maintenance and no accidents. The life-time supercharging stays with the vehicle, which is only true for these early models. It was number 12,287 - ordered in early 2013. Although it now has 160,000 miles, these early version battery packs could not tolerate constant supercharging, being charged to full on a regular basis, and running the battery down near zero on long distance trips (oops!). Tesla honored the extended warranty and completely rebuilt the battery pack when it 'failed' at 125K (and paid the towing!). So although it is a 'high milage vehicle', the battery is less than 40K on it. Having learned my lesson and now with the next generation of battery cells, slow charging at home has been the rule. Rare full charges when on long distance trips is to 240. In addition, the drive train was also replaced through warranty at ~75K miles when it was making an extra sound. Except for the battery, there have been no problems, no accidents, and the vinyl interior shows very little wear without damage. It drives like a Tesla and you will love the smooth ride, vintage acceleration, and sleek look. As Elon frequently brags, no OMG EV has surpassed the 2013 Model S.

  • Cheaper than $6,600
  • Electricity vs. Gas

We've assumed a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon for a comparable gasoline powered premium sedan, for example, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550. We've also assumed the national average of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 10% charging on Tesla’s Supercharger network and $2.70 per gallon for premium gasoline over the next five years.

    $300
  • Express Lane bills

Florida has allowed owners of hybrid, electric and other low-emission vehicles to ride in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes with only one person in the car between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. And with the introduction of the I-95 express lanes, they don't have to pay tolls.

    $120
  • Maintanance

EVs benefit from not requiring oil changes or other maintenance costs for exhaust systems. Studies have shown that this represents a 35 percent decrease in cost over time. Some calculations peg this to about 3 or 4 cents per mile of maintenance cost in an EV versus closer to 6 cents in an internal combustion car.

  • Total estimate $7,140
