SELLER’S STORY:

As empty-nesters, we downsized to a Tesla Model 3, so you can get your hands on the American Dream for less. This single-owner, accident-free, classic (pre-autopilot) Model S handles like a sport sedan but has the safety and capacity of an SUV. Tesla Service has rigorously maintained it in pristine condition. It retains over 98% of its rated range when new (253 of 257 miles), an 8-year, unlimited mileage warranty on the battery and drive train, unlimited free Tesla supercharging and a permanent free LTE connection for remote control. Tesla replaced and updated its early drive unit. Distinctively finished in British Racing Green over a Tan interior (discontinued colors), it features child jump seats and rear bumper reinforcement (discontinued option), articulated Panoramic Roof (discontinued option), Premium Sound System and optional variable-height air suspension (now standard equipment). The Tire Pressure Monitoring System is upgraded to provide a dashboard pressure display for each wheel. A Tesla Universal Mobile Charger/cable with 120V and 240V adapters is included, and a Tesla flat tire repair kit that is handy for adjusting tire pressures. It’s a great highway cruiser you’ll love to drive. Note; this car does not beep annoyingly when entering a garage or parking space.

  • Cheaper than $2,500
  • Electricity vs. Gas

We've assumed a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon for a comparable gasoline powered premium sedan, for example, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550. We've also assumed the national average of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 10% charging on Tesla’s Supercharger network and $2.70 per gallon for premium gasoline over the next five years.

    $300
  • Express Lane bills

Florida has allowed owners of hybrid, electric and other low-emission vehicles to ride in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes with only one person in the car between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. And with the introduction of the I-95 express lanes, they don't have to pay tolls.

    $120
  • Maintanance

EVs benefit from not requiring oil changes or other maintenance costs for exhaust systems. Studies have shown that this represents a 35 percent decrease in cost over time. Some calculations peg this to about 3 or 4 cents per mile of maintenance cost in an EV versus closer to 6 cents in an internal combustion car.

    $120
  • Total estimate $3,040
